Fatigue Analysis for Engineering Design using SolidWorks and Thermo-Mechanical Simulation of Friction Stir Welding 5 mayo 2025
Estimada comunidad ESI:
Desde la dirección del centro se informa del cambio de fechas de la siguiente actividad:
Título: Fatigue Analysis for Engineering Design using SolidWorks and Thermo-Mechanical Simulation of Friction Stir Welding
Nuevas fechas: 5 al 8 de mayo, de 10:30h a 13:30h.
Ponente: Abdessamad Brahami. Department of Mechanical Engineering. University of Science and Technology of Oran.
Lugar: Aula C19. ESI.
Resumen: The teaching programme consists of two parts:
Fatigue Analysis for Engineering Design using Solidworks (4 hours): This part aims to deliver an industry-oriented fatigue analysis, providing students with essential skills in fatigue design criteria, analysis techniques, and simulation using SolidWorks. With a strong theoretical foundation complemented by a case study, students will connect academic principles with industrial applications. This course enhances student competencies for engineering careers and enriches teaching staff expertise in applied design, promoting professional development and international collaboration.
Thermo-Mechanical Simulation of Friction Stir Welding (FSW) (6 hours): This part introduces the fundamentals of FSW, its applications, and advanced numerical modelling techniques. Key topics include the thermal and mechanical interactions within the welding process, simulation methods, and analysis of parameters affecting FSW outcomes. Students will engage with simulation software to develop a comprehensive understanding of FSW dynamics, preparing them for further research and development in this field.
Important note: The course is focused on computer simulation. Bringing a laptop is recommended. Laptops can also be borrowed from ESI Library.
