Actividad Científico Técnica: Finite Element Simulations in linear and nonlinear mechanics with Altair Hyperworks

Estimada Comunidad ESI:

Se informa de la siguiente actividad científico-técnica:

Título: Finite Element Simulations in linear and nonlinear mechanics with Altair Hyperworks

Fechas: Días 17, 18, 19, 24, 25 y 26 de marzo de 2026. Horario: 10:00 a 13:30 horas.

Lugar: Aula C19. ESI.

Ponente: Armin Huss (Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, Frankfurt, Germany)

Resumen: A summary about the Finite Element Method (FEM) will be given. Examples of linear finite element simulations will be discussed, also using symmetries in modelling. The basics of mechanical nonlinearities will be derived with a focus on geometrical nonlinearities, such as large deflections, and mechanical stability, such as buckling. Depending on the students’ background, individual projects could be discussed. In this course, basic concepts will be explained during the first sessions, following then to more advanced problems.

Important note: The course is focused on computer simulation using HyperWorks™. Bringing a laptop is recommended. Laptops can also be borrowed from ESI Library. The software can be downloaded at https://web.altair.com/altair-student-edition

Atentamente,

La Dirección de la ESI
